Since I've heard hard rock since 1987, I always was looking forward to see REAL Micheal Schenker. But I couldn't go to his concert for long time. Last year, at last, my dream came true. Moreover he's a member of UFO!!

I'd like to see him for a member of UFO rather than MSG. I think Michael's melody only fits on Phil Mogg's good vocal. It's the best. Of course the band should be contained Pete Way, Andy Parker and Paul Raymonds too. Because I love British rock very very very much!

It was in excitement and strangers in the night. When I enjoyed their shows, I hope their relation will be continued in future. And now I really got their new album. Is this one-off dream ?

Opener 'A Self Made Man' is impressive on Michael's powerful and aggressive riff. It's beginning UFO in '90s.

'Venus' is solemnly begun by Paul's hammond. Such a beautiful melody... Micheal's electric and acoustic guitar mixture is effective. The lyrics also is like 'Doctor, Doctor'. I think the best UFO's song in '90s.

'Pushed To The Limit' is a good rock, a real rock!! Phil sings "I still love woman, sex and fancy cars" They still keep on rockin',do they ?

'Stopped By A Bullet' is a blues feeling tune like 'Courage and Confidence' on Micheal's "Thank You" album. I imagined Phil sings at wilderness in America!

Album title is taken from lyrics of 'Darker Days'. It's almost UFO's world like '70s. Good boogie woogie, nice British rock tune!

About 'Running On Empty', the sounds and lyrics are real and deep blues. I like blues very very much!!

'Knock, Knock' and 'Dreaming Of Summer'. Say nothing else. Phil is god's singer. Michael is god's guitarist. Pete is god's bassist. Andy and Paul too. They're essencial to UFO!!

How beautiful 'Doctor, Doctor '95' is! Excellent! It's one of the best version begun by Paul's piano. Its lyrics is studio version, sound is live version. Micheal's guitar is crying. Phil's vocal is screaming. And I'm also crying... 'Livin', lovin' I'm on the run , So far away from you...' I think this last song remains our ears, minds and voices forever.

'Lights Out '95' (Japanese bonus track) proves they never change since before. They don't become weak. The nice elder guys are as good as young musician. It's exciting and thrilling!!

By Schenker's comment, "Walk On Water" means "miracle". I'm into miracle world for 52 minutes and still in ultimate exciting...Let's repeat from beginning! We want more more more!!!

If UFO will land on your country with this album in future, don't miss it. I think this is THE British metal all people seek!!

Letter To Viewers

From Mr.Tom McDonald in US

Hey Everybody,

This crap about Schenker already leaving the band has got to be a joke . . .
right??? Tell me it aint so!!!

Tom

I didn't receive the former message. Does "tha band" mean UFO ?
Don't worry. He's still in loving with UFO.
But he says continue also solo career. It's not MSG.
Do you understand ? Well, he'll release second instrumental album
in near future. This time he use electric guitars.
How excite if it's true !

I received him reviews of new album and concert he was looking forward to. It can read Dave's page. Album review is HERE. Concert review is HERE

Mr.Stan Tribble in Florida

Wow, this is great! I was beginning to think that I was the only one that
remembered UFO over here! I did not realize that they were back together.
I wrote to their address on the cover of the CD "Lights Out in Tokyo-Live",
but received no reply. Glad to hear that Mickael Schenker is back too!
Phil Mogg has always been one of my favorite vocalists, although his version
of "Love to Love" on "Lights Out in Tokyo-Live" was just a bit rusty. Can't
wait to locate and listen to "Walk on Water". I hope I can find it!
Keep it coming!
I agree Phil is one of the best vocalists. I surprise I saw him and heard his voice at re-union concerts last year.

Mr.Mike Stephansky in US

Have you heard of any news of a world tour for either Michael Schenker or
UFO?
I read UK's Kerrang! magazine. They'll have shows in UK on July. In Japan not yet. I envy!! Of course everybody too. But UFO is re-fly at last over the world. Let's wait for them.
STOP PRESS UFO will come back for US fans. You can hear 'Lights Out, Lights Out Chicago'!! Tour date is here.Live review is here.

Mr."I...am an enchanter" in Colorado

Hi Kino,

I just read your review of the UFOs new album and enjoyed it.
You mentioned that M.S. did a solo instrumental album? Is
this the "Thank You" album I heard a little about?

Do you know where or how I might be able to find that album?
If nothing else, do you know someone who has it and can record
it for me?
He is busy as UFO now. New instrumental album perhaps will be Michael's future plan. Not confirm yet. "W.O.W." and "Thank You" will be get on mail order. Dave's page has detail. HERE

Mr. ufomogg in Australia

To one and all,

At last to hear UFO back again. It's been a very long time
coming.

Thanks to Kino for a page dedicated to the music of Mogg, Way,
Schenker, Parker and Raymond. There are some of us out here who
still appreciate REAL music!

Walk On Water is a great album... I'd like to say worth the wait
But I've been waiting to long! No... It is great!

Kino, If you hear of any Japan tour dates please post them to
your board. Australia is a long way from you... But a flight to
Paul Raymonds favorite country (and along with Germany the first
country to recognise the skill of this band) would be small price
to once again hear Phil's vocals.

My kind regards to all UFOers, everywhere,

Misty Green and Blue,

Jez
Of course !! If they are back to Japan, I'd like to see all shows at Tokyo AGAIN. I promise to review here. And I hope UFO re-fly over the world, 'love to love to love you'...
P.S. Paul Raymonds had lived in Japan a few years ago. He formed "Paul Raymond's Band" with some Japanese :-)

new Mr.Paul Hall in US

I am glad to see so many Michael Schenker fans.We just saw him in Palo
Alto ,Ca.They ROCKED!!!.It's like they never split up to start with. They
didn't miss a beat. They started out kinda slow,I think waiting for
Michael to warm up, but I can't remember when I heard a band so
tight!Rock Bottom was outrageous!!!I love the rest of the band, but
Michael is my Idol. When he starts rockin', the whole band and audience
lights up.He's untouchable as a guitarist(Well, Mathias Jabbs(Scorpions)
is the only other one close).
I was lucky enough to meet him after the show.20 years I've waited. He
is a God of his own sorts.I think Bella keeps him at ease, and Essence,I
believe to be their new child together,is beautiful!Alls I can say is
that I'm ecstatic that I had the pleasure of seeing him again, and
finally getting to meet him.See him if you can. You'll be impressed and
astounded.
Mr.James Farinsky in US
Greetings,

I just saw UFO in Palo Alto, Ca. USA, it was an incredible show, played all the
"hits" plus 2 new songs. The crowd was totally into it!! YAHOO!!

My only disappointment is that the American release of W.O.W. does not have
Lights Out or a "message to America" on the CD. The CD itself is very rocking
especially the title track.

Regards,

Jim

Above two guys have gone same show, didn't you ? I really envy !! Our Japanese must wait this time. (Sorry, Dave and European. You already are waiting and must do more.)
Why is not "Light Out" contained in US release ? I think it's good re-recording version. I heard a episode about it. On last years tour, they played keeping tempo more slowly than original (or Andy couldn't ?). Re-recording version too. A jurnalist received advance tape from them complain the matter. Pete worried about it. When it released and we got, It's fast as same as original and sounds very natural. What a surprising technology and Ron Nevison !

One more news. Gary Barden (ex-MSG) now join British band PRAYING MANTIS, they released a new album "To The Power Of Ten" and tour Japan on November. Gary says (in interview) Mikael's manager Bella called on him while he was recording as Mantis, and asked him to take part in new MSG album. He reject her temptation. What does it mean ?

Mr.James Farinsky in US AGAIN

YAHOO!!!

UFO is coming back to the Edge in Palo Alto, Ca. USA on October 9th and 10th.
I have my tickets to see them again!!!!

I hope they change the set list a bit but if they don't it doesn't matter. I
hope to get the chance to see Michael after the show again like the last time I
saw UFO. I have actually met him twice now and after the UFO show he signed the
Walk on Water CD and he actually remembered by name. I was impressed. Michael
is very approachable and is very nice to talk with. I will update you after the
show and let you know how it went.

>From the USA,

Jim

Oh... Enthusiastic US fans never leave them, didin't you ? you're great supporters! But when will they come to Europe and Japan ?

Many thanks to access my home page.
I'd like to talk about info get in Japan and you need.
It's a small world on Internet! KINO
